What Style Do I Use? The Question On Our Minds…

This has been a question I’ve been wrestling with. The fun thing that I’ve been trying to do with C-Block is mix up with every single episode is. The only thing that’s going to remain the same is the pulpy, violent nature. I’ve actually.

As you can see, you’re never going to see the same thing twice. We’re trying to create a unique experience here. Our first episode is pretty much used for establishing. After that, it’s all over the place. You’ll have as many experiences as you want. I just need everything to remain fresh and strong.

Bam, look at this really crude chart I made. This basically is the genre structure. It might change, I dunno. That’s just what I’m writing on for now.

C-Block: Let’s Talk About The format

Been getting a ton of questions about distribution. How’s it going to work, do you have it lined up… and so forth.

It’s actually quite simple. The web series format is a new breed, but it’s a breed that everyone has access to… if that makes any damn sense at all. I can make everyone as long or short as I need it, and everything I have is mine and is controlled (mostly) by me. Which means you won’t have to go to the middle of nowhere just to see it.

The alternative would be to take it to festival after festival, where barely no one will see it. Sure, by doing so it gets you all kinds of personal accolades, but it doesn’t really do you much good in the long run when people actually want to see your stuff. And since this is crowdfunded, I want to people to see the work being made as soon as I can get it to them. Not a year or so afterwards when I’m done jacking myself off at film festivals you’ve never heard of. i’d be good for me, not for anyone else, especially you, the viewers who have been patient enough as it is.

I’m in the business of fun and entertainment. I just want you guys to have fun to, and as much as possible. Thus, we’re making a web series and getting quality content to you as quickly as humanly possible. The audience is what matters and I know what you want, even if you don’t know it yet.

Now I have to rest because I’m skating tomorrow. Lucky me.

Shooting Next Week: Some Thoughts on the Movie.

Time for thinking once again. I started writing this about 14 months ago. Then a rewrite about 5 months ago when we lost Barrett. But everything has finally come into place. FINALLY… AT FUCKING LAST GODDAMMIT.

Things are going smooth. I’ve been sure to lay out everything I’m going to do for these sons of bitches so there are no surprises and hopefully no bullshit. But we all know there’s going to be bullshit… so I just want less of it. I don’t think it’s so much to ask. But I dig the actors that I got. They’re really something else. I have yet to see what they can do in the heat of battle but I’m getting good vibes at least.

I’m really glad the actor’s search has gone as well as it has. It’s hard to believe it, but I’m at that point where I’m not begging for people to come. People see what you do and they come to you. It’s really a cool feeling and actually validates my hard work more than any amount of money would. I left every meeting smiling, which is a big deal to me. As a lot of you know, I really have problems with just people in general. I trust nobody. Especially after the shit that went down the last time.

By the way if you want to donate to the movie so we can up our production values, then feel free. just saying. We have something super solid in here.

We have new tech, and someone new behind the lens (me)… and much better sound equipment (and better people running sound, how hard is it to read levels people?)

I owe it to these guys to have a spectacular movie. That’s always my goal. Until the last shot nothing means more to me than these guys.
